I will sing of Your love and justice.

The Shofar

Verse 1:
God called the people to Mt. Sinai
With a blast on the shofar.
He wrote the law with His finger,
His children to inspire.

He said, Make two silver trumpets!
And learn to play them with skill.
So I can call My people in
Or send them forth at will.

Chorus:
Prophesy on the trumpet!
Let the truth ring from it’s bell!
Blast the word out from Zion
And My law from Israel.

Call out My army with the shofar!
To defend the sons of men.
Shake My enemies with a fanfare.
Send them out with a trumpet Amen!

Verse 2:
Joshua chose seven priests with trumpets
To do some renovation on Jericho.
The people all shouted at the shofar blast
And the walls just had to go.

Gideon faced many thousands
With only three-hundred men.
Each blew his trumpet and broke his jug
And the enemey ran and ran.

Verse 3:
When King David brought the ark up to Jerusalem
He sent trumpets to prepare the way.
When Solomon built the temple he asked
One hundred and twenty to play.

In the end times we can be prepared
To hear a heavenly blast.
When Messiah calls His people home
That trumpet will be the last.

But I keep right on praying to You, LORD, hoping this is the time You will show me favor.
